JoAnne C. Maffia (US) ::
is a multi-discipline composer, percussionist and music educator. She has been experimenting with text as sound object, music and theatre for over 20 years. Although experimental in nature, Ms. Maffia’s work typically involves social and political commentary. JoAnne has also acted as producer and director, presenting the work of various artists in differing fields. She has received several awards, honors and residencies over the years. JoAnne was recently the musical director and composer for The Vermont Shakespeare Company’s 2012 production of The Tempest. She is currently the head instrumental music teacher at I.S. 281 in Brooklyn, NY.
